The Itinerary

Day 1

Depart from Manaus at 2PM (14:00 hrs).

Welcome Cocktail, Introductions, Safety and Voyage Briefings. We will be heading to Arquipelago Anavilhanas. In the evening we will depart by speedboats, on a recognition tour. Dinner is included. 

Day 2 

Early morning, boat tour into the jungle to observe the sunrise! Listen to the forest "waking up"! We will return to M/V Desafio and while breakfast is served we will be heading to the Jaraqui Village for a Jungle Walk. Return to the boat and continue navigation until the Indian Village Ta Tuyos, an amazing opportunity of learning about the lifestyle of this local indigenous population. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included.

Day 3

Breakfast while navigating to Acajatuba. Along the way we will stop for interaction with the pink dolphins. We will also taste the famous pirarucu fish (it is known as the local codfish). Navigation until the Meeting Of The Waters where the waters of Rio Negro and Rio Solimões flow together for kilometers without mixing, a spectacle of Nature! In the afternoon we will leave on a piranha fishing expedition. After dinner, we will leave again on an alligator spotting adventure! Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included.

Day 4

After breakfast, we will leave on an exploration tour by canoe. Explore the jungle. Depending on the season and with certain luck we might see the beautiful water-lilies! We will then continue to Manaus, arriving around noon time. Breakfast included. 

Some people say the Amazon is burning.., others say it is "overreaction".  Fact is the Amazon is beautiful, intelligent, unique,  amazing.., and extremely important. One will have a different understanding of life and of human “being” after having seen the Amazon! In this tour you will experience The Amazon like a Native. This is a very special Jungle Survival Experience. With assistance of trained jungle military specialists you will see the best of the Brazilian Amazon. From a Native´s perspective!

Jaguar is a specialized team, with more than 16 years of experience and totally committed to its customers, led by the 1st Infantry lieutenant R/2 of the Brazilian Army Jeffson Araújo dos Santos, who had extensive experience in the Army from 1993 to 2002.  He spent 4 years in the borders of Brazil with Venezuela and Colombia, finishing his last years in the Army Aviation in Manaus. He was a speaker in 4 editions of the Adventure Sports Fair in São Paulo.. 

The Jaguar Team is formed by ex-military members of the Brazilian Army, as well as by specialist guides. and instructors, trained in the company itself. Besides recording several TV programs, the Jaguar Team is also mentioned by Robb Report Magazine, National Geographic, and Trip Advisor. Priorities are customers' safety and satisfaction!

Our two-day program will have an emphasis on the real-life of the Amazonian Caboclos and their interaction with the Jungle. 

Our goal is to help you have the sensation of being a Native, fulfilling the peculiar and necessary daily activities of the Amazon region inhabitant. 

Day 1 

We will leave by speed boat from Tropical Hotel pier or “Marina do David” ( David’s Harbour ) towards JAGUAR Support Base. Right after making the security recommendations, we will start trekking through the trails chosen by our instructors, usually a crew from 3 to 4 people according to needs and always based on the number of participants. 

During our Jungle Trekks, we will have several stops to explain about  natural resources and jungle plants, jungle survival orientations, and general rules, such as how to build traps with automated animal capture systems, how to make a fire in adverse situations, shelter building rules, how to climb a tree using a “PECONHA” and showing how to make it, among other important information. 

We will enjoy a delicious barbecue in the jungle (Chicken, Fish, Meat, Pepperoni - according to customer preference, previously checked) + rice, flour, lemon. We will try to catch the terrific Piranha today! 

Sleeping in the jungle is such a wonderful experience you will never forget !!! Overnight in hammocks with mosquito nets tied between the trees. Nature's sounds are compared to a sleeping song.

Day 2 

On the second day, we will enjoy a rustic breakfast: Coffee, milk, toast, crackers, before we start dismounting our camp and take the returning trekk. We will cook lunch with our clients' help in order to practice the previous day's learning. Then we will return to the JAGUAR Speedboat and begin our return trip to Tropical Pier / David's Harbour. 

Includes dinner on day 1, as well as breakfast and lunch on day 2.

Package Anãma-eté (3 Days/2 Nights)

 

Day 1 

08:00am Departure from hotel in Manaus to São Raimundo Pier where we will depart by boat to the Meeting of the Waters. The water of Solimões River and from Rio Negro flow kilometers long without mixing due the different temperatures and biochemical composition, forming a spectacle of nature. Then we will stop for lunch (included) and head back to Manaus, from where we will depart to Evolução Ecolodge, welcome drinks and check in.

Our transfer to Evolução departs by coach for about 2 hours; then we stop at the riverbanks to change into a motorized canoe and reach Evolução after a 30, 40 minute boat ride.

12:00pm - Lunch

03:00pm – Guide and guests will head for an excursion in motorized canoes into the Igapó (annually flooded forest) and small creeks to see life on the floodplains with possibility to see Monkeys and Sloths. Late in the afternoon we will try to catch the terrific piranhas and take some time to contemplate the sunset.

07:00pm - After Dinner the evening is at leisure.

Day 2

07:00am - Breakfast

08:00am - Jungle Treeking lead by an specialist jungle tour guide, we will walk among big trees and breath the most fresh air on earth and also get information about the flora and fauna of this wonderful region and visit a Caboclo (Native's) House where we will be able to see how riverside families live, and learn about their customs and traditions. These people usually live from manioc plantation and prepare the famous Manioc Flour. They are called "Caboclos" (miscegenation between white europeans and Amazonian Indians). The history of the Amazonian population and the rubber cycle is also  explained here.

12:00pm - Lunch

03:00pm - We will visit a beautiful local village: Acajatuba Community, where locals live from manioc plantations, fishing, different regional fruits like tucumã, cupuaçu, and açai palm trees, rubber and Brazil-nut trees. It’s also possible to learn how they produce crafts using natural seeds and material taken from the jungle.

07:00pm - Farewell dinner

08:00pm – Caiman Spotting guided trip. Visitors will explore the river's edge in the dusk and check a world of nocturnal activity. We might spot frogs, snakes and night hawks and the caimans which are most active at night. Big chances we will see some of them. Guide uses a flashlight to find the caimans besides smaller creatures in the water and on the trees.

Day 3

07:00am - Breakfast and morning free to swim, rest or enjoy the lodges facilities. 09:30am - Check out
10:00am - Departure from the lodge to Manaus, once again, first by motorized canoe, and then by coach, to the airport or to your hotel in Manaus.

An opportunity of seeing the region with the biggest concentration of Amazon indigenous people in the world. The Javari River Valley offers the unique opportunity of visiting Amazonian Natives in their own habitat.

The Javari River Valley offers the unique opportunity of visiting innumerous natural beauties and at the same time get a different insight about the world we live in, gathering stories and multiplying personal experiences. 

Our goal here is to offer the best experience with Nature in an exotic place in the heart of the Amazon Region in a place called Javari River Valley, located in Atalaia do Norte, Amazonas State, Brazil. In this 3 border region, we will also visit places in Colombia and in Peru.

Most of our trips will be made by speed boat: “Pirarucú”, which is able to grant us quick and safe rides.

We will visit and overnight – among other places – at Heliconia Natural Reserve, that offers a fantastic nature experience. Heliconia Natural Reserve is located on the banks of Javari River, close to the peruvian community Santa Rita.

Tabatinga Airport (Brazil) is served daily by Azul Brazilian Airlines. Leticia Airport (Colombia) receives 3 daily flights by LATAM Brazilian Airlines, AVIANCA Airlines and VIVA AIRE Colombian Airlines.

Itinerary

Day 01

Arrive at Tabatinga or Leticia Airport, immigration, transfer to hotel and check in at Tropical Vibes Hotel in Tabatinga. Dinner and overnight. 

Day 02

Breakfast at hotel. Depart to Colombia for a short Citytour in Leticia and visit to the Etnocultural Museum, this tour takes about 1,5 hours. Arrive At around 11:00AM we will leave by speedboat from Tabatinga port for lunch at the peruvian town Islandia. Our ride will take 30 minutes.

At around 2PM we will leave to Atalaia do Norte by speedboat. Our ride will take about 60 minutes. After arrival check in at Castro Alves Hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Day 03

Breakfast at hotel. We will depart hotel at around 9:00AM on a 20 minute car drive along road BR307 to Aldeia Marubo (Marubo Indian Community). We will arrive at around 10:00AM, watch a welcome ritual, including snuff and body panting (for those who want to try snuff the Indian way or get their bodies painted, this is a great first opportunity).   

The we will depart on a 40 minute jungle walk to visit the Matis tribe. At 1:30PM we will return from Marubo Tribe to Atalaia do Norte. Buffet lunch is included.

4:00PM Depart from Atalaia do Norte to Pousada Heliconia, takes 1 hour.

Check in, dinner and depart by boat for a Cayman flashlight watching tour. The eyes of the caymans shine in the darkness when in contact with our guides flashlights…, an amazing activity. Overnight.

Day 04

Breakfast at Pousada Heliconia. We will depart our Pousada at around 9:00AM by speedboat (“voadeira”) on a 20 minute ride to Santa Rita (Peru). We will learn about how to handicraft a canoe, according to the local culture and will visit a giant Samaúma tree. We will then drive back to our Pousada for lunch.

In the afternoon, jungle walk where we will have the chance of birdwatching and observing the monkeys and learn basics about jungle survival. Dinner and overnight. 

Day 05

Breakfast at Pousada Heliconia. We will depart today by speedboat for a 4.5 hour speed boat ride to Aldeia Konahã. On the banks of Javari River. Arrive at the tribe, welcome ritual, corporal painting, snooth, frog’s milk (for those who wish). Lunch at Maloca Kanamari.

In the afternoon we explore the settlement and its activities. Handcraft production, agriculture, hunting technics. Dinner at Maloca Kanamari.

Overnight at a camp at Aldeia Konahã. We will set up a camp with tents and hammocks. An energy generator and satellite phone are available. 

Day 06

Breakfast at Aldeia. The morning is free to explore the region. At 11:30AM we will depart back to Atalaia do Norte, arriving at around 5:30PM. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Castro Alves.

Day 07

Breakfast at Hotel Castro Alves. At 08:00AM we will depart by speedboat from Atalaia do Norte to Tabatinga. At around 10:30AM arrive in Tabatinga, transfer to the airport (Tabatinga or Leticia).

We recommend you carry only a backpack or light bag with the most necessary items: Long pants, long shirt, light clothing, bathing suit, sturdy shoes or boots, slippers, repellent, sunscreen, hat, flashlight, and raincoat. 

Remembering that this is an “Indian Village”, therefore the place does not have wi-fi or other technologies. However, for you to record this unique moment, if possible, bring an external battery to charge your cell phone, as there will be few opportunities to charge the device from an outlet. We do NOT suggest traveling with a suitcase, if possible, leave it deposited at the hotel in Manaus.
